January is all about clearing out the old to make room for the new. Decluttering your closet doesn’t just create physical space—it clears mental clutter too. Here’s how to get started:

Step 1: Take Everything Out

  • Lay all your clothes, shoes, and accessories on your bed or floor. This helps you see what you really have.

Step 2: Ask the Big Questions

For each item, ask yourself:

  1. Does it fit?
  2. Have I worn it in the last year?
  3. Does it reflect my current style or lifestyle?
  4. Does it spark joy?

If the answer is no, it’s time to let it go!

Step 3: Sort into Piles

  • Keep: Items you love and wear often.
  • Donate or Sell: Gently used items someone else could enjoy.
  • Recycle or Toss: Worn-out pieces that can’t be repaired.

Step 4: Organize What’s Left

  • Group similar items (tops, bottoms, activewear, etc.).
  • Use matching hangers or storage bins for a polished look.
